A Viking Dagger I'm half Norwegian and have been interested in Viking and Northern mythology since I was a little boy. I've been to Scandinavia many times and collect any books I can find about the Eddas, runes, lore, history and so on. Believe it or not, I found the movie The 13th Warrior very enjoyable. I've been collecting knives since I was in Cub Scouts and decided to add my first custom made piece to my collection. This was in 1995 or so. After years of reading knife magazines and books, I knew who I'd have to contact to make this vision a reality. They worked as a team at the time. Murad Sayan and Don Fogg. We started a correspondence discussing what I was looking for. You can read those letters by clicking the smaller images on the bottom of the page. The image right below is the drawing that Murad sent me detailing the layout of the piece. I was sold from the first letter. Click the image for a larger version.
Below is a sample of my collection. Again, I do not see these as implements of violence. I see them as tools. And also objects of art. The craftsmanship that goes into these items amazes me. Simple and functional.
